Die Illustratorin Susannah Garden erschafft Bildwelten und Wandmalereien, die sich spielend zwischen dem Ästhetisch-Dekorativen und dem Symbolischen, Narrativen hin und her bewegen. Themen der Mystik und der Erkundung von Traumlandschaften gesellen sich in ihren Kompositionen zu bisweilen chaotischen Strukturen und Erzählungen – lebendig, organisch und meist nicht linear. Rhythmus und Textur bilden das Bindemittel, das all diese Elemente zusammenhält. Susannah Garden studierte und lebte in Melbourne und Moskau bevor sie nach Berlin zog, wo sie seit einiger Zeit auch das Sunday Sketching mitorganisiert, eine informelle Veranstaltungsreihe, bei der sich Interessierte an den inspirierendsten Orten der Stadt zum gemeinsamen Zeichnen versammeln.

The illustrator Susannah Garden creates picture worlds and wall paintings that playfully move back and forth between the aesthetic-decorative and the symbolic, narrative. In her compositions, themes of mysticism and the exploration of dream landscapes are joined by sometimes chaotic structures and narratives – lively, organic and usually non-linear. Rhythm and texture form the binding agent that holds all these elements together. Susannah Garden studied and lived in Melbourne and Moscow before moving to Berlin, where she has also been co-organising the Sunday Sketching, an informal series of events where interested people gather in the most inspiring places in the city to draw together.
